The statewide Parent Collaboration Group (PCG) provides support to parents by linking them to Single Source Continuum Contractors (SSCCs) and Child Protective Services (CPS) through regional Parent Support Groups (PSGs). The regional PSGs provide information to parents currently receiving SSCC/CPS services, and they are facilitated by parents who have successfully navigated the Texas child protection system.
Every region has at least one local PSG. Meetings happen once a month and focus on how parents can navigate the child protection system successfully. The parent facilitators begin the meetings by sharing their personal stories. Then, they answer questions from the parents and give them information about various community services.
A liaison from the SSCC or CPS also attends the regional PSG meeting to explain the child protection process, answer questions, and support the regional parent liaison. If you have any questions about your regional PSG, or if you would like to volunteer for the PCG/PSG, contact the CPS/SSCC liaison in your region.
