DFPS has Silver Star resource rooms around the state that help Adult Protective Services (APS) caseworkers provide goods to assist our clients.

Adult Protective Services

These resource rooms are set up like a store, where caseworkers can find necessities and emergency resources 24 hours a day for vulnerable adults who have been abused and/or neglected. This includes things like dietary supplements, adult diapers, and toiletries.

Silver Star Rooms are resource rooms for vulnerable adults that receive assistance from non-profit corporations, local APS boards, and their local communities. APS clients served through the Silver Star Rooms often live on fixed incomes with limited assets. Local resource rooms save time and money, allowing caseworkers immediate access to supplies like detergent, bath soap, and toilet paper, which allows clients the ability to afford food, shelter, and medicine.
