Elizabeth Farley currently serves as Chief of Staff for DFPS, bringing extensive expertise in government relations, strategic planning, and public policy. She joined the agency in October 2024 as Executive Advisor to the Commissioner. As Chief of Staff, she provides stability and leadership, strengthening the agency’s connections with external partners, while overseeing the agency’s government relations and media relations departments.
Prior to joining DFPS, Elizabeth was Director of Government Relations for the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists. She also served as Budget and Policy Advisor to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, focusing on child welfare policy reforms in collaboration with DFPS. Her early career includes experience in the Texas House of Representatives, further underscoring her deep roots in Texas policy and governance.
Elizabeth graduated with a degree in Public Policy from Duke University where she was an athlete on the Division I Track and Field Team.
